Like the teddy bears we have at home, bears are very family-oriented in real life too - cubs are extremely playful and thei mothers look after their cubs all the time. Also highly intelligent, bears have exceptional navigation skills, can remember well, and have heightened senses of smell, sight, and hearing, which help them steer far away from predators. During hibernation, grizzly and black bears can go 100 days or so without eating, drinking, urinating, or defecating!
