Stego's tail spikes, called a thagomizer, could grow up to 90cm (3 ft) in length! They would swoosh it around to protect themselves from predators. Their distinct back plates have also been a hot topic of debate with conflicting views on whether it's just an aesthetic, or it fulfils some functionality!
